FAQ

Do you design for weddings?
We love weddings, but currently do not offer full-service wedding design services. Ala carte florals for weddings and other events are available, which can be a great option to keep things simple for your big day. We would be happy to talk with you about your needs. Please contact us for more details.

Do you grow flowers?
Yes, we grow many flowers on a tiny piece of suburban land, including hundreds of tulips, ranunculus, anemone, snapdragons, stock, and spring flowering bulbs. For the majority of our flowers, we support local growers by purchasing wholesale fresh from the Seattle Wholesale Grower’s Cooperative, located in south Seattle. In the future, we would love to have access to a larger growing space and be able to source a larger portion of our designs with flowers we grow.

What does "Blue Whale" mean?
The name of our company came about simply because we liked it, but it symbolizes our commitment to using clean and sustainable floral design practices, as well as our focus on providing fresh flowers during the cooler, “blue” months of the year when access to local flowers in the Pacific Northwest has typically been more limited. We’re on a mission to change that!
